Can't wait! # Hope it's really true!!! yes, I talk to Carlos at Si Senor once in a while, but I've been hesitant to post anything since they seem to be using that code from "Wrath of Khan" where hours are days and days are weeks, etc. We were holding at "3 weeks" for quite a while, then recently slipped down to "2 weeks." I suppose the estimate should become more and more accurate as the length of time goes down, so maybe 10 days is a reality... -Rick

Fajita Grill Opening Soon...

I don't want to speak for Kate, but (speaking for her anyway) I'm sure she was NOT being sarcastic, since she has spoken longingly of the Fajita Grill on many occasions. > > > Can someone fill me on all this? It specialized in authentic, somewhat upscale, Mexican food; though it was not terribly expensive. It was the only place in town where dishes were prepared with some of the more interesting, complex Mexican sauces, like mole ( a sauce made with a large variety of chile peppers, sweet spices, and chocolate), pipian verde or rojo ( made with pounded, shelled pumpkin seeds, ) and Chipotle-peanut sauce( Chipotle peppers are smoked, dried, red jalapenos). Anne Haigh, the critic from Pittsburgh Magazine, frequently listed this restaurant as one of her favorites. Several months ago, the fajita grill closed its doors on Old Clariton Rd. I'm not sure why, though I often thought that they might do even better in the city. ( We only ate there about 1/10 as much as we would of liked to, since it was virtually impossible for my wife and I to get all the way out there by their insanely early closing time of 9.) Since then, many members of this group have hung on every rumor of there reopening. I hope the restaurant survives the translation to shadyside, excellent restaurants have been known not to (i.e. Simply French).
