Excellent food

The 1889 Cafe on East Carson Street (South Side, next to City Grill) has
excellent food ! Everytime my fiance and I go there the place is nearly
empty. (I don't understand it because the food is great !) We eat out a
lot and have very picky tastes, especially when it comes to pastas,
seafood and vegetables. This cafe always has above average pastas (priced
around $6.00 to $12.00), oriental salad as a meal (about $7.00), and
seafood for about $12.00, as an entree with a large greek salad and
homemade rolls. "No ! I don't own the place or work there. Just passing on
 the good news." ENJOY !

I work in the old Gimbels warehouse (now called Birmingham Towers) and
the 1889 is our favorite place for lunch. Fortunately, they do a healthy
lunch business, so I hope there's no imminent danger of losing them.

Other hidden "jewels" in the South Side include Petey G's diner (awesome
soups and interesting specials) and 17th St. Cafe.

BTW, I'm in the process of developing a WWW page for the South Side.
