Downtown Restaurant Recomendations?

Froggy's is popular among downtowners. The food is good if not a tad pricey.
It's on Market Street between (I think) Blvd. of the Allies and First. Just
across the street is San Remo's Pizza, more casual, less expensive,
excellent pizza. Jamie's on the Square is supposed to be really good but I
haven't had the opportunity to eat there yet. It's also on Market but on the
other side of PPG in Market Square. Kason's is on Fourth on the other side
of Wood St. and is really good for burgers, chicken, salads, and such.
Costanzo's, an Italian place, is also on Fourth and a tad closer to PPG. The
food was decent but the serving sizes didn't quite justify the prices. Also,
the menu was rather limited as I recall.

Don't know if you're an out-of-towner, but Primanti Bros. in Market Square
is a Pittsburgh original. The novelty is that the coleslaw and fries are put
*inside* the sandwiches. Didn't think I'd like it when I first tried it, but
became instantly hooked. Of course they'll put them to the side if you ask,
but everyone should try it at least once.

Then there's the chains like Max & Erma's (on Stanwix on the other side of
Liberty, a little further from PPG - compare to Friday's) and Ruth's Chris
(in PPG 6, expensive but excellent steaks). If all else fails, there's a
Wendy's on Liberty right next to the McDonald's. Yes, there are LOTS of
Wendy's downtown (though not as many as there are Subway's), but this one
has the freshest food I've ever had in a Wendy's and the lines move quick.

 Bon Appetit!
