Brendan's (Clark Building, Liberty Avenue, Downtown) is the restaurant
associated with the Culinary Insitute (which is right across the
street from the restaurant). All the food is prepared and served by
students. As a result, you get very good food for very reasonable
 prices.

The menu is not extensive. There is a special of the day (today was
baked haddock; tomorrow is Fillet of Salmon en papillote), chili,
soups, and several varieties of sandwiches. I had the haddock, which
was served with curried carrots and raisins and whipped potatoes with
cheese. All was tasty and well done. For desert, two of use split an
order of Bananas Foster, which was prepared at the table and served
flaming. It also was very good.

The prices, as I noted, are reasonable. The special is $5.95. The soup
of the day is $1.00. Sanwiches are $4.25-$4.50. Deserts are $1.25 to
$2.00 for standard deserts to $4.95 for the Bananas Foster for 2.

They are closed during school vacations, but open for lunch most of
the rest of the year. Their phone number is 391-7252.
