Zaws on Murray Ave next to Aiello's Pizza (521-3663) is by far the best
thing that has happened to Chinese takeout in Pgh during the last year.
Their Singapore Rice Noodle and Twice Cooked Pork are very very good.
Even some of the Cantonese dishes (usually pretty tasteless and prone to
sticky white/gray sauces in most places) are good. Try the Chicken with
Almonds if you're not a fan of hot sauces. Marvin, the cook, is a gas to
watch, and the owner/counterguy (Sonny) is friendly and efficient. They do
get backed up, so order early or just come with a book or magazine
and hang out on the bench by the front window. Food is worth the wait and
they're nice people to boot. Tell'em Dave sent you.
