I've only used Bertucci for take out - my business is half a block away and once a month or so we bring in 3-4 pizzas for lunch. Happen to feel that Bertucci's bakes one of the better Center City pizzas. In fact, am still looking for a non-chain Center City pizza joint that bakes a decent pie - anyone know of such a place?

Shortly after it opened, a group of us went there and ordered 4 different pizzas. One with the caramelized onions was overcooked. The server presented it to us anyway and said there was no charge for it and that another one cooked to their standards was coming shortly. They did not charge for that one either since we had to wait. Plenty was left to take home. Needless to say, the pizzas and service were excellent--higher priced than some but the quality is there. It was a fun atmosphere too. A hands down winner compared to, say, Pizza Hut.

They opened some time in '95. For what it's worth, they have a sign in their window suggesting that they are different from a chain pizzeria.
