Baum Vivant is at 5102 Baum Blvd. I can't remember the cross street
that it is near, but it's close to the PaperMart that's on Baum. The prices
are on the expensive side (I only go there when my parents are paying--
I'm a lowly graduate student) and the food is excellent. They do sort of
a French/Portuguese style -- they have a nice variety of entrees that
changes often. If you can find last year's restaurant issue of Pittsburgh
magazine, they did a feature on Baum Vivant.

In my opinion, it's one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh.

Baum Vivant is excellent--it's right next to the burger king, ironically
 enough.

You also might want to try Cafe Flora--it just opened on Bryant St. in
Highland Park, across from the walnut market (Take Negley toward the
zoo; make right on Bryant st., it's on the right). It's roughly across
the street from what used to be La Foret.

The place is small, nice looking, and has bistro-style french cuisine.
