Baltimore House
Went there a couple of years ago was good, but not great. Since it is a long drive for us we have not been back. However if I was in the area I would stop. tom Beverly B. wrote in message ... >Someone wrote: >> >> Hi - >> >> Has anyone ever tried the Baltimore House in Pleasant Hills? The beer selection was better than average (there were perhaps 20-30 different beers available), which was nice. We'll probably go there again sometime, though I tend to avoid driving out that way because the traffic (and traffic lights) between Mt. Lebanon and Pleasant Hills is awful. The best place in the area for sea food, from reports I've heard, is at the Steelhead Grill in downtown. I haven't yet eaten dinner there myself. However, we had some friends from Boston and Washington, who have eaten at quite a number of good restaurants in both places, say that the Steelhead was the best hotel restaurant they'd ever seen.

I was there last summer - it was awful. Funny smell as you walked in. Had a special lobster dinner. I had a choice of steamed oysters which I never heard of - but the waitress said everyone loved them. didnt want to take the chance so went with something else. All i remember was that the only thing good was a fresh ear of corn. couple in the next booth ordered the crabs and said they were inedible and left. Would not recommend it.

My comments would seem to be all too much like just about everyone else's. For
years, after passing by the restaurant or after seeing the restaurant's ads on
cable, my wife or I would, invariably, say, "We have to try that place!".
Years of anticpation were smashed within moments of walking in. The place did
smell. (I kept looking for a restroom nearby!!!) The food was luke warm and
bland.
We have never even CONSIDERED returning.
Cute building, though...

Would that be Wright's Seafood Inn to which you're referring? If so, that's an excellent suggestion. Definitely one of my fave Pgh seafood purveyors, and they're in the Entertainment book. BTW, standard disclaimers apply. I'm not affiliated with them in any way other than being a satisfied customer.
