Try Sansom Street for starters between 34th and 36th Streets -- White Dog Cafe (inexpensive bar food and more expensive restaurant), New Deck Tavern (cheep bites) -- There's also lots of stuff around University City -- closer to Chestnut as you go into the higher street numbers. I don't know if the Penn Tower Hotel has a restaurant but that's about as close as you'll get to the Civic Center for food. andrea
