Here are the hands down winners, I swear to God you're going to love them. 1. Vat and Tonsure 2. Old Wives Tale 3. Cafe Des Amis 4. Bridgetown Brewery (Great pizza in a great micro-brewery) If you have a car while you're there, you absolutely must drive to the coast to a little town called Newport, just south of Lincoln City. There's a little hotel and cafe right on the beach called The Nye Beach Hotel and Cafe. Get out, go in and order the New England Clam Chowder. I will guarantee that you will want to bring some home with you. It's the most excellent clam chowder I've ever had. In fact, all of the food there was first rate, top notch, top drawer. Enjoy. Bon apetit, y'all Curtis

Restaurants in Portland, Oregon

Which is plenty of time to phone ahead for reservations at La Catalana, for fine cuisine of the Spain's Catalan (Barcelona) region... Genoa isn't cheap - with wine, over $100 for two - but what a meal it is. Really good Northern Italian cooking. Zefiro's has fine mediterranean-influenced dishes. Pazzo, Basta's, Assagio... some good Italian places scattered around town. Pazzo is downtown, Basta's over on N.W. 21st, and Assagio is on S.E. 13th, down in the Sellwood area. There are more, too. Portland's current bout with prosperity (low unemployment rate, booming high-tech economy) means lots of places opening up. And don't forget to check out some of Portland's great brewpubs! The two places that feature Widmer - the Heathman Bakery and Widmer's Gasthaus - are both quite good. Yum!
