A couple other good restaurants Cafe Brio - Mayfield Rd. just west of Brainard, Lyndhurst. Italian. Expensive. 100th Bomb Group - Grayton and Brookpark, just off 480 and across from NASA and the airport, Cleveland. Moderate. I *love* this restaurant -- it's one of a kind. Reservations recommended at both places. -- The Tiny Software Co., 23707 Glenhill Dr., Cleveland, OH 44122 Steven J. My wife and I have been talking about going. Well, we finally made it to Empress Taytu, and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant is really lovely inside, with lots of Ethiopian atmosphere created via music, art, & thatched huts. Service was slow...but not annoyingly so, and our server was knowlegable about the food. This was good, since the menu is not organized in a particularly user friendly manner! The spice combinations were unique; we sampled beef, chicken, lamb and vegetarian dishes. No silverware - you eat with your fingers and small pieces of a very porous flatbread. Fun, and messy, since most of the dishes are quite wet and the bread is not at all sturdy! Hot towels are provided before and after the meal. The food did not go over particularly well with our 12 and 16 yr old sons, however, despite the fact that they have adventuresome palates. (They didn't care for the Maki Mandela lecture we "dragged" them to after dinner, either, but that's another story). :) I recommend it - next time we go, we will have reservations so that we can sit at one of the "basket tables" under the thatched huts. The traditional coffee ceremony ($16) looked fun, and we'd like to try it sometime too.
