It's been a few months since I've been there, and I can't remember exactly where it's located, but I was astounded to discover an incredible Indian food restaurant out there. It's called Amir India, and it's located in of all places, a small suburban strip mall. As I recall, it's a short drive from Dayton, not too far, but not in the heart of Dayton if that's what you were after. Still, I wouldn't visit Ohio without going back to this restaurant. I don't know if Indian food is to your liking, but I must say that I have dined at dozens of such restaurants all across the U.S. and I still cannot believe that I found my favorite one in the middle of Ohio. Every dish I had, matched, if not surpassed the quality of the same dishes anywhere else. Plus, I was simply blown away by their lamb saag, which is the dish I use as a benchmark test to compare all Indian restaurants. Even if you don't go there the day of Les Mis, don't miss this place. And let me know how it goes, no matter which restaurant you choose; I'm always looking for new places to go when I visit Dayton and Cinci.

Amar India is an excellent Indian restaurant, specializing in northern Indian cuisine. It is located only 15 minutes south of downtown Dayton, across from the Dayton Mall (just east of the intersection of I-75 and State Rt. 725).

Other excellent Dayton restaurants:

L'Auberge
King Cole (both a bit pricey, but more affordable for lunch)

Pine Club (excellent steaks, not sure if they are open for lunch)) Jay's (seafood)

Amar India is in a strip mall across the street from the Dayton Mall. It is actually in Miamisburg and it is just as good as Steve says. The street the mall is on is either route 741 or 725 (I forget which, one is north-south, the other is east-west). If you are looking for other places in Dayton, let me know (I missed your request). I am from the area and know many more places...but let me know what kind of food.
