My husband and I had dinner at Shuckers in Cary last night for the first time. Tom's post yesterday about the scallops at Birkenstock's got me to craving seafood, but since Wake Forest is a little too far for us to go on a weeknight, we settled for Shuckers. Maybe that was a mistake. The service was excellent, absolutely no complaints there. But...something wasn't quite right about the seafood. We had the fried combination plates, and although we both had different items, we both got sick. Yech. Don't know if there is *really* something wrong with Shuckers seafood, or if perhaps there is something in the way its cooked, but something definately isn't right. We both felt fine when we arrived at the restuarant, but felt awful before we could even get home. Beware.

My wife and I had a similar experience at the Cary store with poor food about a year ago, which I posted to the newsgroup. The corn was especially terrible, which was a real surprise, since it is the only vegetable they offer, and you get it with every meal...you would think if that were the case, it would be sublime, not slime. We have not been back to that location since.
This is not to malign the Wake Forest store at all...it has been excellent everytime we have ventured there.
