I don't know if it is still open but there's a great sushi bar called Yamazushi on Highway 54 in the RTP area. There are a couple of locations, one not far from the EPA complex, if memory serves.

One of the few good memories from my RTP sojourn.

For a quick Chinese meal near RTP, Schor Szechuan at the corner of highways 54 and 55 is pretty good. I've heard that the best Chinese food in the area is supposed to be at the Hong Kong Restaurant on Guess Road in Durham, but haven't made it up there to try it out yet.

Marco Polo, on 15-501 right where Durham meets Chapel Hill, has good Chinese food too, and they also have a good Italian menu (I know, it sounds weird, but it's really good).

And I wouldn't call it reasonably priced, but a "not to be missed" place is La Rez in Chapel Hill on Rosemary Street. The food is fantastic.

Little Tokyo on Maynard Rd in Cary has wonderful
and extremely fresh sashimi, especially very good
thickly cut tuna, and very nice red tip clam.

Kashin, in the Crossroads Shopping Center also in
Cary, also has good sushi (not quite as good as
Little Tokyo, though their squid is superb).
But in addition, they have a good set of appetizers and other entrees. I liked their steamed pudding and tempura.

I went to both on a trip to Cary last week, and was really quite impressed.

I've been to Yamazushi several times and it's pretty good and an excellent choice if you have to catch an early flight. The last time I was in RTP, I found out that they are open for lunch and have some really good deals for under $10. I had the udon noodles in broth, it came with 4 pieces of tempura, a nice plate of sushi (I had asked for tuna only so I got 10 pieces of tekka maki and 2 pieces of tuna I believe), also soup and salad, all for $8.95. Much better than cafeteria food!!
