Outer Banks NC restaurants?

We have usually gone to the Wharf for the buffet dinner, but most of us have gotten tired of being stuffed into such a crowded space, and the hurried atmosphere. Plus, they have little to offer that is not fried. Also it is difficult for someone who is handicapped to maneuver through the crowds, and my mother-in-law now needs a walker. This year we went to a place called George's, which is near the Wharf, but I can't recall the address, sorry. You can find it in the magazine you get from the realtor and just about every place else. It is a much more open place, mom had no problems, and its much bigger than the Wharf over all. They take reservations, which is nice. You can either get a buffet or just order a meal. Of course we went for the buffet, and it was pretty good. Mostly seafood, but some meat choices, fried and broiled, stewed, etc. There are seperate dining rooms all decorated differently, and shaped differently. A little ticky tacky, but fun. Our group was happy. (of course feed them mass quantities of anything and they are happy!) We generally take and make all our own food, and only go out to eat once during the week. If you like fresh seafood and are going to cook your meals, go to Dockside 'n Duck, on Duck Rd. at the intersection with Schooner Ridge. Their seafood is wonderful, and definately get their own seafood sauce, a very nice kick of horseradish. Vickie
