(Could have sworn I heard an echo!)

Stopped by Ole Time Barbecue on Hillsborough Street last evening to pick up a pound of their roast pork for dinner. Drowned it in some nice eastern NC sauce and it was better than a burger (but not much). No wood and no flavor. The hush puppies and slaw were pretty good, though. But the best thing was the pork ribs. I'd go back for those again.

What everybody cooking?

While we're on the topic of warning people away from pseudo-Q, stay away from Stamey's in Greensboro. Rumor has it that they used to smoke a decent pig but I think now they do worse than steam.... it is so soggy (with water) that they must boil it now or something! And with all that water they have totally displaced any actual flavor in the precious porcine, leaving you with nothing more than flavorless (and in my case, cold) pork pudding.
