Was it called Helena's? I visited Helena's about 6 years ago - my first experience with Polish food. It was very good, but on the heavy side. I think Helena's closed, and then re-opened. I'm not sure if she is still in business in Chapel Hill. carla Clinton E. wrote: > A couple of years ago, I went with some friends to a place on > Franklin St. in Chapel Hill that served Polish food. You might be thinking of Cracovia. I don't recall the address, but it does serve Polish & Eastern European food...good stuff. As far as German food goes...there's not much, unless you count Mr. Dunderbak's, a sandwich shop in Crabtree Valley Mall. (Nice beer selection, BTW.)

Nope, he's talking about Halina's, at 306 W Franklin (behind the restaurant formerly known as Mondo Bistro - don't know what's there now). They've got some darn tasty pierogis, both boiled and fried, and their prices aren't too bad. -Tom ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Brady [email removed] http://www.technomancer.com/~duncan SCA: Duncan MacKinnon of Tobermory Furry: Duncan da Husky See my webpages for Society for Creative Anachronism & gay & lesbian info
