I would have to say Smithfields does some pretty good fried chicken.  Take 40 south  and get off Jones Sausage Rd for the nearest one.

My choice is Barbeque Lodge.  The secret is that they brine their chicken, and it is amazing when it comes out of the kitchen, all hot and flaky... mmmmm...

I've found that the best bet there is to go family style and get all you can eat.  Their barbeque is pedestrian, but their fried chicken is not to be missed.
