I'd also like to know if this is the norm. My husband and I went there last fall and it's the only time we've been. I don't honestly remember if it was a weeknight or weekend but it was relatively late in the evening and we only had a short (15 minute?) wait. I had a steak and he had something from the Italian side, and I don't think we ordered appetizers. Our waitress was friendly and put up with my husband's joking around. I know the service wasn't bad or I'd remember, and the food was good. We've talked about going back but haven't yet. I won't bother if it's going to be like you described!
