I wanted to thank everyone who responded to my recent posting for restaurant recommendations in Ithaca, which included some wonderful tips.

As luck would have it, we were in the mood for Thai food and ran into a Thai native at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration who
*insisted* that we go to a two-month-old Thai restaurant in Ithaca on Route 13 directly across from McDonald's. Its Thai name, which translates to something like "Royal Family," escapes me, but delicious memories of its wonderful salad with peanut dressing, pad thai chicken and fried bananas with coconut ice cream do not! ; )

Owner Sam, a Cornell alum, is a native of Bangkok, an alum of not only some of the top Thai restaurants in New York City but the Waldorf-Astoria to boot, and a genuinely nice guy -- if you're in the neighborhood, don't miss it!
