My two top favorites are Scalo in Nob Hill - upscale Northern Italian grill, lively atmosphere and Stephen's - very classy, great food . For some New Mexican food, Garduno's is a local favorite. There are several around the city. The newest one by Winrock mall has a fun atmosphere. In the north valley area, El Pinto is a pretty restaurant with good New Mexican food. Our favorite is a university area, small funky New Mexican restaurant called El Patio. HOT!!
