Well...I'm afraid this is not the best of restaurant areas in NJ, but one place that's on our Wish List for the area is Dennis Foy's Townsquare South, a casual, outdoor branch of his wonderful restaurant in Chatham. Although I can only quote from reviews (which seem good all-around), it's BYOB, casual dress, and probably as high-priced as his other place. Cuisine is described as New American and "Water Cuisine" - the latter something Dennis has coined himself.

Vitals: 512 Main Street, Bay Head

If you have time, you might want to visit a library and check out one of the Shore Issues of New Jersey Monthly (I believe May/June/July timeframe) for other ideas.

Good luck!
