Hot Dogs: Chicago Style

We used to call those deep fried doggies "Swanky Frankies" in Detroit. Here are, for those of you who care, the best hot dog experiences I have ever had:

#1 Hot Dog ever: Max's on the Jersey Shore. Rt. 36 in Long Branch, New Jersey.
This place is only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, when Mrs. Max goes to Florida. There are pictures of all sorts of luminaries eating these hot dogs and BOY are they worth it. Big tubs of sauerkraut on the table too - mmmmm.

#2 Hot Dog ever: Ted's in Buffalo, NY. These are grilled over open charcoal flame and then dressed as you please. Ted's also has awesome onion rings.

#3 Hot dog ever: Wolfie's in Chicago. Poppy seed bun, no ketchup, and they sold hot-dog shaped bubble gum at the counter.

What do you guys think?

>I've also heard of a Texas Tommy which is a hot dog, split
>lengthwise 3/4 of the through then filled with cheese, wrapped in
>bacon and deep fried. No wonder so many Pennsylvania people die of
>heart attacks!
>Don...
