Malcom,

I can't remember the name of this place, I think it is Fontana. It is right across the stree from the New Brunswick train station. Upscale, so don't forget your wallet.

For good (albeit expensive) food try La Fontana or The Frog and the Peach. Both serve excellent food that is artistically presented. Plan on minimum $125 for two including a drink or two...

As New Brunswick is the worldwide HQ for Johnson & Johnson Inc, you know there's got to be some good food around...

Old Man Rafferty's, which is on the corner of Route 27 and George Street. At first glance, it looks like something in the TGIF/Bennigan's mode, but it's a cut above that; the food is very good--anything with the honey mustard sauce is wonderful--and they have a reasonably good wine list. They're open fairly late, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Around the block from them is another restaurant whose name escapes me now, but it's a New Orleans influenced place, and looks it. You can't miss it if you go by it. I don't know how late they're open, but they have magnificent food and a good wine list, but the prices are a bit on the gasping-for-air side.

I agree -- Stage Left is excellent. Also try Zia Grill (also in New Brunswick.) Susan Pober
