Being one of the prime tourist areas of the Jersey shore, Cape May
City and Cape May County have many fine eating places. In Wildwood there is Groff's, family operated restaurant open only 4 to 8pm, and only in the summer, closing this year on Saturday, Sept 15, the last night of the NJ Firemen's Convention (an event that attracts between 50,000 and 75,000 people). Another great one is Urie's, famous for seafood. Be advised, that there are usually long lines.

the middle of Cape May. Another top notch place
is the Washington Street Inn. Be sure to make
reservations ahead of time. August is crazy! If
you want info on what to do in Cape May, a good
source is Cape May Times.. it's at

My favorite restaurant in that area is called Menz's which is on Route 47 in Rio Grand just west of Wildwood about five miles. That place is incredibly huge and its packed everything I go there. Fortunately, they take reservations. The food there is continental cuisine. Steaks, chops, fish, chicken. Everything there is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Service is superb. The atmosphere is very nice and unlike any other restaurant by a long shot. The prices vary from about $15 per person to about $30 without drinks.
