Abe's Oyster House isn't bad for sea food its on one of the main drags the street name escapes me for the moment. Actually its right where you come in on the expressway. Another choice not necessarily in AC is The Ram's Head in Absecon its run by the same people who own the Manor and operate the High Lawn Pavilion. You cannot go wrong getting in your car and going there. (dress code). Sorry I just noticied my typo its the Ram's Head Inn in Absecon

I dont much like to eat in the casinos,so I generally seek out quality restaurants in the Boardwalk area.For Italian,I think Mama Tucci's,on Pacific Ave about a block away from Resorts is great.The people there are apparently all family,they treat the diner great,and the food is as good as Ive had at the price.Mama Mott's on New York Ave,a block from the Ramada,is good too,a right pretty little place with high quality seafood,and they have an early bird special,but who eats early in AC? On the 3rd deck of the Ocean One Mall one can find some pretty good food,as well as eye-popping ocean views.The Top Deck Steak house cooks up a nice steak,but their shrimp and salad bar is best left alone.The Italian Bistro and the Black Forest,in the same mall,are pretty solid,nothing special though. If you like chicken wings,you must go to Pics Pub on Tennesse Ave.They serve them that particular New Jersey style,attached at the joint unlike the separated ones one finds usually in the east.But their sauce would be valid in Buffalo.Ask for "Smokers",the bartender will try to talk you out of it,but I find their "hot" to be not hot enough. There are at least a couple good meals to be had at the casinos.I like to eat at "The Twenties" at the Claridge sometimes.Its the friendliest casino staff in town I think,and the Maitre D',Paul,is a great host.Also I try to always eat breakfast at the Taj's Sultan Feast Buffet.Most of the stuff is pretty average,but I would go there just for their home fries. There are several places I have heard about but not been to yet.Ive been wanting to try the Vietnamese places,and the pizza at Tonys Baltimore Grill. Oh,almost forgot,the best steak I have had in AC was at a place called 12 south,on Indiana ave about 2 blocks from the Sands.I have heard good things about the Peking Duck House on Atlantic Ave,but never been there.I have never been to any restaurants on the mainland. Hope this will give you some ideas and starting points. Bill

-> My wife and i are going to Atlantic City for New Years Eve ANd for
-> the following week. We are looking for some good sea food
-> restaurants. "GOOD" doesnot mean $50/plate.. but as in 'well
-> prepared, fresh, etc" Price is not the real issue but some poeple
-> confuse the two.
If you want good seafood, drive a half hour south on the Parkway
to Wildwood to Uri's. But call first because I really don't know if it's open in the winter; during summer they seat over a thousand at a time.
