There's a restaurant on the entertainment level of the Luxor called "Millenium." It's decorated in kind of a new-age-cum-chrome-and- grace-jones style. I've eaten there a buncha times. The food is quite excellent. I'd recommend the "sierra madre" burger (smothered in chili and cheese) which at about $5 is one of the best burgers in Vegas. The flaming beef fajitas at about $10 is pricey but delicious. They bring it to your table literally billowing smoke/steam from the kitchen. They also offer a dessert called "treasures of luxor" which is the following: a dark chocolate pyramid (actually a tiny model of the hotel) about 2.5" high. Inside of this is strawberry mousse and inside of that is a smaller white chocolate pyramid. The whole thing is swimming in a fancy swirled sauce decorated with sliced kiwi fruit. At $3.95 this dessert is incredible. Try it. Also, one of the waitresses in this restaurant looks like she could be actress Kim Cattral's twin sister. Lastly, let me also recommend what I still consider to be the best $4.95 steak special I've ever had in Vegas (or anywhere for that matter). You'll find it at a little coin only casino called "Ellis Island" which is next door to the Super 8 Motel on Koval Lane (which runs behind Bally's on the strip). I'm talkin 12 oz. of 2" thick prime sirloin here. 100% edible, melts in yer mouth.. includes a good sized salad, potato, and garlic toast to kill for. They serve this spcial 24 hours a day. Comfy booths are gettable almost any time of day except breakfast/dinner time can get crowded. YOu also get a free fill-the-machine video poker play for each diner at your table on a regular machine and you keep whatever you win (except you can't get the initial $1.25 in quarters that they put in back and just walk away with it). Ellis Island is a real "locals" hangout. They do a free bingo game mon-fri at 9am if yer into that. Harv [email removed] Article 23 of alt.vacation.las-vegas:
