What can you expect in a city that voted Taco Bell the second best Mexican restaurant in town in a poll last year? Anyway, consistently excellent Korean food (as well as a small selection of Japanese and Chinese, including a Mongolian BBQ) can be found at Seoul at 1119 S. Virginia, near Plumb. Both lunch and dinner are reasonable and very good. Davo's on West McCarran & Kings Row (in the shopping center) is okay if you like old-style Italian (heavy cream sauces and tomato sauces, lots of garlic, big portions). There's another Davo's (I think it's on Moana) which is similar in style of food, but is under different ownership. The casino buffets are pretty mediocre. The Nugget buffet has good desserts, but for the most part, give the buffets a pass. The food at Louis' Basque Corner (301 East 4th) isn't great (often overly salty and cooked until 'way past dead) but it's a fun experince if you've never eaten at a Basque restaurant. Customers are seated at long tables, and food is served family style. Lunch is a big bowl of soup (eat as much as you want) followed by salad, Basque beans, your choice of main course (selections may include oxtail stew, chicken and rice, lamb or steak, rabbit stew, sweetbreads) and good, crisp fries, followed by ice cream. A glass of cheap wine is included. I think dinner has another course or maybe two. Good luck!
