Best time of the year is when the kids are in school. Avoid June, July, & August, Holidays in general, and to a lesser degree, Friday and Saturday night. If I had to stay on the strip, my choice would be the Desert Inn, but I would rather stay off strip or downtown as a visitor at the Rio or the Golden Nugget. Restaurants that are special: Palace Court at Caesars, Michaels at the Barbary Coast, Andre's at 401 S. 6th St, and Fiore in the Rio jump to my mind immediately, but others would have other ideas...those are just my favorites. Of the permanent shows, I'm partial to Mystere at Treasure Island and Lance Burton at the Hacienda. Have a good time in Las Vegas
