I think that the most consistently excellent restaurant is The Tillerman. It is an excellent fish, steak, seafood house that is very well run, with good food, good drinks, very good service and pleasant ambiance. It is not a special occasion restaurant - is not fancy - but for consistency and overall excellence, it wins my vote. For a special occasion, Pamplemousse is a very nice French restaurant. It is not excellent, but has very pleasant ambiance, good food and pretty good service. It's a bit pricey! I've not been there, but I'm hearing very good things about The Aristocrat. I'd appreciate some feedback from anyone who has been there.

Las Vegas?

It's not cheap, nor is the menu very extensive; last time I was there $24 bought a standard dinner, including salad, entree, pasta and bread. However, one component of the meal was all the table wine you could drink, and the atmosphere was priceless. This guy with an accordion made small talk with the customers and serenaded the couples in the cheesiest manner imaginable. I don't remember the food being spectacular but it's a neat experience at least once, and as best I could tell many of the customers were regulars who go there every time they're in LV.

Surprisingly, Banyon's (sp?) top of the Horseshoe was excellent, and they have a pretty good wine list; quite relexed and a neat view after dark. The Rosewood Grill's food was also excellent, but a bit expensive and the staff was in a hurry to reseat our table; they sport an extensive wine list, but even average wines are too pricey. Breakfast at Sam's Town (before 10 AM, I believe) provides eggs, fries, toast, coffee, and a half or three-quarter pound smoked hamsteak for about $3.99!! The water fountain and wolf (coyote?) show are pretty neat as well.
