Last year we had fun (and a good meal) at a large Mexican place with a dopey sounding name that I can't remember (it was suggested by the concierge), and there's a Japanese place near the convention center that has good food and OK sushi. We asked what the Japanese people there were eating and ordered that. It wasn't on the english menu. I've heard rumor of an excellent all-you-can-eat sushi bar but don't know where it is. Anybody else know? There's also Pierro's which makes great Osso Bucco (Carol will love that), fresh crab claws, and nice pastas. It's pricey and you need a res. The best buffet is at the Mirage. Bon Voyage! P.S. You can see the menu for Red Sage, which is almost identical to Coyote Cafe at http://www.town.hall.org/ \........................\........................\ \ Michael Kranzdorf \ [email removed] \ \ Kranzco Realty Trust \ 610.941.9292 \

He recommended Hugo's at the 4 Queens, Stefanos at the Golden Nugget, and Michaels at the Barbary Coast. Last trip (in June) my wife and I took a customer for dinner to Hugos and had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner. Chuck Weinstock

A friend was in Vegas last week and I made the following suggestions: Coyote Cafe at MGM Grand - call ahead for reservations in the Main dining room Spago in the Shops at Cesaer's Palace - great food, a bit expensive Amici - on West Tropicana - good value, away from the strip, Italian The Tillerman - great seafood The Redwood Grill in the California Casino - downtown Dona Maria's - Mexican, no decor, excellent food The buffet at Palace Station Casino - The Garlic Cafe and breakfast at anytime, the Peppermill (next to the Riviera) ======================================================================= |Tom Ransom | [email removed] | |Manager, Marketing Communications| [email removed] | |Truevision, Inc. | | |7340 Shadeland Station | (317) 841-0332 (317) 576-7700 | |Indianapolis, IN 46256 | Voice Fax | =======================================================================

Perhaps my expectations were too high, since I had had an absolutely fabulous meal at the same chef's (Mark Miller) Red Sage in Washington, DC last summer, but I was VERY disappointed. The food wasn't nearly as special as Red Sage, in fact it really wasn't all that special at all. It wasn't all that heavily spiced.. and my fish came out overcooked.. both items I shared with someone else. They also have a cafe outside but the menu there wasn't as interesting. On the other hand, given the results inside... >Spago in the Shops at Cesaer's Palace - great food, a bit expensive I agree about this. I had eaten at Spago the night before and found it to be wonderful. This is similar to Coyote Cafe in that they also have a cafe outside the restaurant, but their cafe menu looked to be very interesting, and I would have happily eaten there instead. You can eat for a reasonable price in the restaurant, too. Highly recommended. >The Tillerman - great seafood I've heard good things about it but have never been there. >The buffet at Palace Station Casino - Yes, this is excellent. I had the breakfast buffet at The Rio one morning the last time and while it was ok (they had orange juice that was either fresh or had pulp added) the rest of the food didn't measure up to what I remembered at Palace Station from my previous trip. >The Garlic Cafe Ate there my last night in town and I thought it was pretty good. The prices are very reasonable but if you do not have a car it's a $10 cab ride from the Caesar's Palace area. -- Bill [email removed]

I'm assuming you mean something other than casino-buffet all-you-can-scarf'n'barf fare. All of the major casinos have at least one 'nice' restaurant, plus there are tons of non-casino restaurants off the strip. For Italian, I recommend Battista's on Audrie St. There are GOBS of American/steak/continental/mexican/oriental places, in the casinos, on the strip, and off the strip. Good day JSW
