The strip and its attractions can become rather boring once you've seen them. Generally, I choose to recommend places where there is good value and where I feel at home in. I myself like to gamble occasionally but won't make it a priority in my daily routine. These are the features that I would recommend: 1 - The Gold Coast Hotel and Casino Caters to the locals and Californians. It has a congenial atmosphere, good food at more then reasonable prices. Example: 16 oz. T-bone steak, salad, garlic bread, barbecued beans, onion rings and a glass of beer for only $5.95 (available in the Monterey room at all hours. All type gaming including a sports and race book, Nightly music and dancing, movie theater, bingo and bowling. They also have a club that offers premium gifts on a point basis. Many locals, Californians and New Yorkers Congregate there. The people that work there are very friendly. 2 - MGM Theme Park A great place for young and old. 3 - The Forum at Caesars Palace Wonderful assortment of shopping (expensive stores) and great restaurants. Spago's, New York Stage Deli. A magnificent show of movable statues within the mall. It's very impressive. 4 - Sports and Race books at: Las Vegas Hilton (the largest screens and good Irish coffee) Caesars Palace Imperial Palace (individual TV screens for horse racing). 5 - the Rio hotel and casino offers the best cocktail waitress uniforms. all rooms are like small suites that have a refrigerator in each room. Great moderately priced seafood restaurant and oyster bar. (Buzios). 6 - The Palamino club - If your into that sort of thing. Leave the Mrs. home unless she's into that sort of thing also. Then there is Pahrump, buts that a different city altogether. I can not elaborate as to its good points because there aren't too many. 7 - Best gambling ??? actually with the advent of computer slot machines and the edge greatly in favor of the house, your chances of winning are very slight. The only positive expectancy is in horse racing and sports betting and in order to win you have to be a daily player and somewhat of an expert to grind out a living.
