While in the Omaha area, if you don't do anything else, visit the zoo. The Henry Doorly Zoo is one of the nation's best. Some trivia: the Omaha metro area has a population of about half a million. The zoo has more than 2 million visitors a year. The world's largest indoor jungle is also there. Really impressive.

Other sights: go to the Old Market. For restaurants, try the French Cafe, V. Mertz, Chez Chong, Trini's, or any of the small cafes in the old market. Take a stroll in the nearby Central Park Mall (and lagoon, assuming its not still part of the Missouri river....) afterwards, and return to the market for ice cream later!

Sights in Lincoln....hmm. Well, there's the capitol building. Memorial stadium, where you can see all of the red dye produced in the history of the world on Saturday afternoons in the fall.

Just be sure to go to the zoo.
