I absolutely recommend the Garden Cafe, at least the one downtown(12th &dodge?) . The cinnamen rolls very tasty and quite a mouthfull. Obviously, I've only been there for brunch. So I don't know much about the rest of the menu. My parents have taken us to Johnny's(sp) Steak House a number of times in the past. I've recently been to Ross' Steak House (x-lent Chateaubriand for about $35.00) over christmas. Generally, we've had good luck in steak eateries that feature huge displays of steers on the outside of the building. Don't ask me why. For fine & expensive dining, try Cafe de Paris, if it's still around. It's been about 5 yrs since my visit. I don't know how expensive they are since the women at the table get menus sans pricing of each entree. -hope this helps, nani

In addition to the Garden Cafe, which I mentioned yesterday, I would suggest Grandmothers. Both places are moderately priced and the food is _excellent_. Grandmothers is partially owend by Senator Bob Kerrey (D-Nebr), BTW. Jacque Lincoln, NE
Several years ago I went to Chez Chong (they advertise Paris and Omaha branches) in the whatever the old area is downtown. Their menu is mostly Chinese but had some other asian influences. The food was great and they were very accomodating. There was a meat dish on the menu with bean threads. I don't eat much red meat so I asked if it was possible to get mixed seafood with bean threads - no problem.
