Just had the Chicken Royal at Talayna's in Rock Hill. Pretty good stuff.

They offer pizza in New York, St. Louis and Chicago styles. Maybe somebody could go there with a group and do a round-robin style test, report to the ng. Would be good for more arguments.

Only negative on Talayna's is lack of a no-smoking area but nobody was stinking anyway.

The Rock Hill Talayna's is now called Talaymi's. We were there last week, and we split one of their extra large pizzas, NY Style. It was good. Their dinner rolls were excellent, and the server was courteous. Thankfully, there was no one "stinking" while we were there either. my wife and I ate pasta there several months ago, and that was also good. Note: they not only accept their own coupons, but accept all Talayna's coupons as well. The only two drinkable beers that they offer are Schlafly Pale Ale and Pete's Wicked Ale, both in bottles. I would recommend eating there, but with the caveat that there could be smoking. Hacienda is only one block east, so if you arrive and encounter smokers, you could go there instead. Talaymi's also has a full liquor license for those who prefer cocktails.

Their Chicago style pizza ranks up there with the best pizza in Chicago (Jacko's on Lincoln, and Mi Pi down by the lake).

haven't been to the one in Rock Hill, but I *think* the one near Forest Park has a non-smoking section - at least no one has been smoking while we were there.

Mild nitpicking here, which might be useful to
folks who want to use a map or phone book to
FIND the place. It's at Pershing and DeBaliviere
(local pronuncation DuhBOHlivar), and it's called
Talayna's, not Talanya's. I've noticed a lot of
folks reverse the "n" and the "y", especially in
pronunciation. The name derives from the Yiddish
for "Italian" and should not be pronunced as if
it has an n with a tilde.
