I'd lost my enthusiasm for Talayna's over the years, especially in the last month they were open at their old location, when I got served a fairly wretched meal. Last night, I gave them another chance at the new location on DeBaliviere,and was pleasantly surprised. I had a nice chunk of cod, cooked with olive oil and lemon, a bowl of good minestrone, and a perfect side dish of lightly steamed veggies. The service is still a bit sluggish, but I think that they can solve that eventually!!! They still have their old menu standbys, but have gussied it up a little, and have added such goodies as tartuffo, which ran out before I could try it. Kiwi Carlisle [email removed]
