I'm not one to follow the crowd, but I had heard so much about super smokers from a host of a radio show that I just had to try it on the way out to six flaggs. The smoked chicken was incredible. We bought some by the pound which was very reasonable, ~8.00. While KC Masterpiece is a different style of bbq (favorite non-home cooked), super smokers is pretty incredible. No sauce is needed despite 6 different styles at the table. This is one of the best bbq ever. While it is smoked, it doesn't have that obnoxious smokey flavor that I usually think of. This place is a must try. The smoked large smoked chicken sandwich is a sure winner. I think they have 2 locations, Eureka, and somewhere else. Over the past few years I have heard of an incredible bbq ribs place in the city. Anyone got any ideas? HoJo

My favorite city place is Roscoe McCrary's, at the corner of Parnell and St. Louis Ave., a few blocks over from Crown Candy and about half a mile north of the northwestern edge of downtown. Supersmokers is adding a third location in the Dierbergs adjacent to Chesterfield Mall, opening this weekend. joe b. I've had many trips to the 'Great Rib' places, St. Louis, Kansas City, Cincinatti. I have not found one that compares to Chaney's on Olive. In Olivette. McCrary's has more than one sauce. The "hot" one is my fave, but it is, in fact, pretty incendiary. I've occasionally run up against a little dryness in their meat, but you can usually avoid that by ordering a full slab. And responding to one of the previous posts, it's at 2719 Parnell, about the corner of St. Louis Avenue, roughly half a mile north of AG Edwards. The roads change names up there a few times, but I'm pretty sure that it's the same street that Jefferson turns into as you head up to the McKinley Bridge.
