Also, try the University City Loop (between Big Bend and Skinker on Delmar). Within two to three blocks there, there are recipies of at leat 20 different ethnic groups, including Ethiopian, Indian, Italian, etc. I have to plug the one that my boyfriend works at: Fitz's Restaurant and Bottling Company. Good solid American fare, with a Root Beer microbrewery. You can watch them bottle the soda. Also has a great bar area. Leesa

Don't know if this is too late for you, or not. There are, oddly enough, FANTASTIC Thai and Vietnamese restaurants in St Louis. Thai: Thai Cafe (Delmar), King and I (South Grand) are both excellent "regular" Thai restaurants. Thai COuntry Cafe (Delmar) is more of a noodle house, also excellent. All owned by one family's members. Thai gai Yang (Delmar) has BBQ which is tasty. Vietnamese: Pho Grand (South Grand), the most well known one. Also try Pho Saigon (South of South Grand). And there's a newer place across from Pho Grand that's also good, but I can't think of its name. Local: I'm very fond of Riddle's Penultimate (Delmar) for a slightly upscale menu, casual ambience. Chef uses all local produce, homemade desserts, great wine and beer selection. For casual, get directions to Crown Candy Kitchen, in a bad area of downtown. FABULOUS home-made ice cream, best milkshakes ever, and yummy grilled cheese, BLTs, chili mac, etc. Sigh. Audrey, who, believe it or not, misses her St. Louis favorites despite living in the Bay Area. :) On Fri, 15 Jan 1999, RJP wrote: > Any good Thai or Vietnamise restaraunts in St.Louis.And also just a good local > place.
