They have outstanding food. Try a salad with some "white" chili on the balcony with a Chardonnay and enjoy a view of the Missouri you won't soon forget. Blackened fish and chicken are also tasty. They are connected somehow with Trailhead (Lewis&Clarks is much older) but not a brewery in any way. For breakfast or lunch on the weekend, try Cafe' Beignet in Old Town St. Charles. Best french toast in town! Cappuccino and beignet's.. mmm.. The MotherInLaw place is a real experience. Very stuffy and confining (you sit in the living room of "the first duplex west of the Mississippi"). Excellent food prepared "mom" style. "Mother" walks around with a plate of vegetables or rolls and invites you to "try some of these wonderful carrots, won't you?". I loved it but it is not for anyone under age 35.. Cafe Beignet is now open in the evenings I believe (or will be soon) They are supposed to upgrade their menu also Grappa Grill is not a bad choice. Has the ambience of a chain food emporium but the food is routinely good and portions are generous. Bonapartes is the French Restaurant everyone is speculating about. It is on N. Main across the street from the STL Bread Company. Tony's on N. Main is also a good place to go for a meal, although not a lot of atmosphere (diner feel)....but good food!
