They tried to bring us margarine instead of butter w/ the bread, and I had to ASK for real butter. The waiter, an older gent, was a bit surly. He brought more bread, but didn't bring any more butter, plus he didn't keep our water glasses full. All in all, awful service. I tipped $6. on a $38.xx check, and that was more than he deserved. It didn't ruin our meal, though. This is more than we usually spend on dinner, but the food was nice, the company was perfect (just my wife and I alone), and they had a jazz combo that did "My Way." Both my wife and I could hear the Sid Viscious version in our heads. It was really campy seeming, even though I know that others take such entertainment totally seriously. I probably won't go back, since the appeal of the place for me was the duck. My wife will probably go there again w/ her sisters or parents. This is the third restaurant that I know of that has removed duck from their menu. Duck is one of the things that I like to order out because I haven't really mastered it myself. Steaks are just the opposite. I almost never order one out because they are never as good as those prepared on my or my nephew's grills.
