Expensive for KC but not for SanFrancisco, LA , or such. Steve Cole is owner/ chef & really knows his stuff. Eclectic/Italian/Oriental/Calif cuisine. An extraordinarily good wine list. Some of the best meals I've ever had were at Allegro. Absolutely killer, and the KC folk probably don't realize what a gem they've got there. Also would recommend Il Putrullo (Italian) (sp?) and Zenith (Calif cuisine) TomHill [email removed]

They have family style meals and they make wonderful fried chicken and chicke frieds steak along with the home made mashed potatoes and cinamon rolls, It is a laid back resturant. Very good. Their motto is: "We choke are own Chickens" Marilyns
