I was told that Fortell's Pizza Den has the best thin crust pizza in town. I sampled the Veggie - was very good. Anybody else have a fav. I'm also looking for a Chicago style deep dish. I've had the Pizza Hut version already - it's not bad but a little on the thin side.

Fortel's is pretty good. They've recently expanded out of their South County niche, there are now restaurants in Florissant and Bridgeton.

A lot depends on the kind of thin crust you prefer. Many people detest the Provel cheese with the crispy crust, but I like that kind. I usually try to go for family-run pizza places for that. Two in North County I like are Pirrone's (Florissant) and Faraci's (Ferguson).

A good all-around pizza place is Talayna's. They have deep-dish that is pretty good, and I particularly enjoy their thick crust (what they call NY style).

Balducci's off of Page and Bennington is good for thin and Farraci's on Manchester. The Farraci's in North County was sold to another family and the Pizza went downhill.

Don't forget Joe Boccardi's. They have three locations. I prefer the "Joe's special" - I can't get enough of that stuff.

Yes, I think Talayna's is really good too. Don't forget Rich & Charlie's for a pretty good thin pizza.

Pizzaria Uno is great for a deep-dish pizza - well, I think so anyway.

I like Cecil Whitakers thin crust, but then there's no accounting for taste.

There is a little almost hole in the wall Pizza Place on Camp Jackson Road in Cahokia Il called "Antonio". (And Tony IS from Italy!!!) All made from scratch while you wait - it is fantastic!! Only problem, no beer.
