How about some suggestions for satisfying chinese food? King Doh on Manchester in Glendale is good, but I need some others.

My nomination for the worst Chinese food in the city is China Country in the Woodbine Center on Kirkwood Road in that town. "Orange chicken" was an autoclaved and fully smelted stewing chicken which exactly duplicated french-fried kitestring. Never again.

OK - among the best for dinner are Hunan & Peking Garden, on Manchester in Manchester. One of the area's best. And the lunch buffet at Happy China on Olive at Fee Fee is fantastic.

The Royal Chinese BBQ on Olive has a very different menu which I like alot.

Does anyone have a list of the DimSum restaurants in St.Louis. I am disenchanted with the China Royal on Lindberg at McDonnell Blvd. Ben

The best Dim Sum I've had is at Hunan Gardens (I think that's the name) on Olive just east of Schuetz Rd. It's right next to an Office Max on the north side of the street. They have Dim Sum for lunch on Sunday, very good. I have not tried China Royal, but it's interesting that you've grown tired of it.

One thing about Hunan is that they have several off menu items that you can get if you know about them. Once they have seen you for a while they will start to offer you these dishes. Shao Lung Bao (Dragon's Balls) are really great.

I don't have a list, but I asked an oriental cube-mate at work the same question. He specifically recommended I NOT go to China Royal. ;-)

The one I like best is Hunan Garden out on the Page service road (just west of Carol House). Go out just after 11 am on Sunday. I think you'll like it, but be advised it gets rather crowded - with a mostly oriental crowd, if that means anything. :) The others he mentioned are more like buffets...
