Sorry I didn't see the original post of this thread, but it looks self evident. My husband, a twin cities native, absolutely raves about Green Mill pizza (when we have visited there guess where we ate? and it WAS fabulous) He also speaks very highly of the Kyber Pass restaurant, Afghani food--we'll get there next time. (it's in St. Paul, I believe)

For a great burger and malted head over to The Convention Grill out in Edina (near France and Orange? I'm native San Diegan with family in Edina so I'm going by memory 8-) The Convention Grill has really good burgers, fries (1/2 order big enough for two) and the best malteds and milkshakes. I prefer the hot fugde malted. Although they have expanded the seating a bit, there is still a wait near dinner time and sometimes at lunch. The place has been around for at least 50 years. carrie

Sept 10 >Which would be better, i.e. food, atmosphere, etc.? >Forepaughs or 510 Both are okay, but extremely conventional fare. Don't expect to be dazzled; expect good, formal stuff, but nothing exciting. 510 is more of a theatre-district feel; Forepaughs is an old mansion converted to a restaurant. I don't think either of them is as good as Cafe Un Deux Trois, in the Foshay Tower in Minneapolis. But be forewarned: Cafe Un Deux Trois is more of a cosmopolitan French feel--formal, but definately more urban upscale in its atmospher. Forepaugh's is more fancy restaurant in a mid-sized town in its environment. 510, as I say, will have more of a pre- and post- theatre crowd. >Do we need reservations? Probably. >Also is Figlio the best Italian restaurant in MSP? Not even close. It's a trendy, hip bar, with Italian-ish food. Ristorante Luci is the best Italian bistro. It's in St. Paul, and is small inside; space fills up quickly. It's probably already too late to get a seating before 9:00 (unless you're willing to go before 6:00). They make wonderful homemade mozzeralla appetizers, and generally do nice things with their main courses. Typically, their menu will offer a chicken, beef, veal, and seafood entree, along with an evening's special. The menu is limited, but everything is done correctly. If you want the best Italian restaurant in MSP, though, I'd have to say D'Amico Cuccina in Minneapolis. Definately a more upscale urban feel. Their menu is often adventurous, but I think they're the best restaurant in town. --Jack Stecher [email removed] >Some people recommended Port of Beirut, lebanese/middle eastern food.
