One of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities is no doubt Goodfellow's. They just recently moved, and supposedly the new locale is a bit noisier, however, it is usually ranked highly in Twin City reviews. The next best bet would probably be D'Amico Cucina, a fine Italian eatery near the Target Center. Both of these places will set you back quite a few bucks, though.

Some of my personal favorites include Palomino (euro-metro-bistro), the Dakota Bar and Grill (great midwest cuisine with jazz music to boot - it's in the Bandana Square in St. Paul though), D'Amico and Sons (several locations, the inexpensive alternative to D'Amico Cucina), Forepaugh's (in an historic Victorian house in St. Paul), W. A. Frost and Company (also in St. Paul), Broders' Southside Pasta Bar (I live around the corner, and still can't believe a place this good is so close!), Soba's (neat little bistro in south Minneapolis), the Whitney Grille (in the Whitney Hotel), and Manny's (for steak). If you find yourself in the mega-mall, the California Cafe is excellent. Another favorite of mine is the Black Forest, especially when it's warm out and they open up the beer garden.

There, that should keep you eating well if you find yourself here in the future.
