There are several outlets for Buddy's Pizza. While the original on Conant is full of character, it is in a bad area. Try the one on Northwestern Hwy in Farmington Hill but come with an appetite.

My favorite growing up was Dearborn Villa in Dearborn, just west of Detroit. I don't know if it's still open, but great pizza (not deep dish) and salads.

Also, for a chain Pappa Romanio's (sp?) used to be pretty good. Several places here in Vegas advertise "Detroit Style Pizza," which I am unsure as to what it is.
