We've never eaten at Bogart's because it's just not our style, so I can't really comment on the dress code there. Most places are amazingly casual in Cancun. May I suggest the restaurant L'Habichuela (meaning the string bean and I probably didn't spell that word correctly...)? It's in the town of Cancun, as opposed to the hotel zone. Make reservations so you can get a table in their courtyard and order the wonderful string bean soup! Tracy

Restaurant Dress in Cancun?

Two restaurants I remember well are Mexican Rose, good food and a very romantic atmosphere. It's in town and you can wald off some of the food by window shopping afterwards. It's dressy-casual. The other restaurant's name translates to Almond Tree(?). It is across the street from the bull fight arena. Excellent food, very authentic. It's casual dress. > Enjoy! Sonja
Just got back from Cancun. Ate at Bogarts on a VERY rainy night when we couldn't leave the hotel. Bogart's has a strict dress code - that is, strict for Cancun. The only rule the hostess listed was, men must wear pants. The other interesting thing is that they do two seatings a night. One at 7:00pm and the other at 9:30pm. But there is a bar in the waiting area - and it's a gorgeous room, so go early and have a drink. Bogart's was cool. A unique experience. My only complaint was that they were filming something in one of the nicest rooms (Yes, room(s). The place is MUCH bigger than it looks from the outside) - near the fountain. All the wait staff would gawk at the film crew and actors. It was quite distracting - as were the intense lights! (Being from LA, I get sick of film crews taking up space, acting like they own the place, etc. - to have them follow us on vacation was the ultimate poetic justice). Enjoy! Vickie McCorkendale
