Its name is Chi Chi's but has no relation to the North American chain of that name. In fact, based upon some of the drink mugs used there, the name has a quite literal reference to its Mexican slang roots. You will understand if you go there. The menu specializes in fresh seafood, reputedly caught by the servers themselves early in the morning before they come to work at the res- taurant. Chi Chi's hangs out over the edge of a cliff over the sea, and the view is very good for honeymooners. I ordered the red snapper on my one visit. It is called Huachinango there and is served with some kind of a green salsa. The portion was large and tasty and colorful, but the food could not compare to the setting. Randy

A few of our favorite places include: (None of these are "traditional" taco/burritos type places - there are plenty of those around, most of them are about the same. Las Pamplonas (the flags, I think) is a good one.) Daiquiri Dick's - casual, open air, with a California-inspired menu. My husband loves their black bean quesadillas. Cafe des Artistes - upscale, pretty expensive, with a continental menu. Have the pumpkin soup, rack of lamb. Adobe Cafe - casual, stark Southwestern decor, great Texmex/Mexican food Bombos - up on the hill, with a fabulous view. Their house special, a shrimp dish, is prepared at your table. Have a great time. If you have any more questions, feel free to email me. Tracy [email removed]
