Mexico City: Closing of Las Cazuelas

I was in Mexico City over the weekend and discovered, to my horror, that Las Cazuelas, one of the best and oldest places to go for good traditional Mexican cooking, had closed down. Its formerly grand dining room on Calle Colombia had been taken over by a motley assortment of small shops. I wept.

Does anyone have more information on the closing, and on whether the restuarant has reopened elsewhere?

Incidentally, La Fonda el Refugio on Calle Liverpool in the Zona Rosa is still exceptional .... and cheap, given the wretched state of the peso.

Agreed that DF is worse than ever .... nonetheless, El Refugio is still worth the trip. Btw, do you know Las Mananitas in Cuernavaca? For my money, the finest restaurant in the entire country.
