-- Try a restaurant called IL PELLICANO (sp?), it's on the hotel strip near The Carrousel Hotel. Cheap buffet breakfasts, great service. There's also DA PIETRO's on the same strip, near the same hotel that serves great inexpensive pizzas. I have some of the info at home -- if you want more just send a message on my email. Have fun! Oh -- there's a small restaurant on the beach in back of one of the Hotels (can't for the life of me remember the name) but it had the best Caesar Salad ever -- the chef makes it in front of you. Their seafood is quite good, too. It's a popular place so if you ask around I'm sure one of the locals could direct you to it. You should take the time to visit Chichen Itza (the Mayan ruins) in Merida while you're there. Quite impressive. Have Fun -- I wish I was going to Cancun -- today's high in Montreal is -18 C (-40 with the windchill factor)! Anna [email removed]

Dining in Cancun
Someone wrote in and asked about local cuisine. I found that the best place to find the "authentic" local food is to go downtown and then head back off the main drag about a block or so. There are a lot of "real" restaurants there. Find the street that has the Catholic Church and check around that neighborhood. When I was in Cancun in 1991, that's where we found the Mexican food! Enjoy the heat!!!!! (freezing in northern Vermont - LeRoy)
